This year's concert spotlights award-winning national touring artists Juni Fisher, Patty Clayton, and Al 'Doc' Mehl, followed by local favorites Michael Hurwitz, the Miller Sisters, and the Jackson Hole All Star Cowboy Band. Juni's writing, paired with heart-wrenching vocals and outstanding guitar picking, have made her a favorite at festivals and concerts across the nation. She is the recipient of the 2009 Western Music Association female performer of the year and album of the year, the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum 2008 Wrangler Award for her album Gone For Colorado and many more. Patty Clayton is a performing songwriter whose original ballads and borrowed songs celebrate the West of today and yesterday. Her pure vocals have delighted Western and folk audiences in a career that has spanned several decades as a solo artist, accompanied by her band, and as an instrumentalist and harmony singer for various live performances and recordings. With one foot in the past and one in the present, Al 'Doc' Mehl weaves the history and the mystery of the West into his original poetry and music. They showcase his witty humor and keep audiences laughing from start to finish. Doc's debut music CD is titled Asphalt Cowboy, and his second music CD, I'd Rather Be..., was released in 2008. Local favorites Michael Hurwitz and the Miller Sisters, both backed by the Jackson Hole All Star Cowboy Band, will round out the evening with a dance party on the stage, where the audience is invited to join in the fun.
